Tan Son Nhat Airport — Domestic departures
Tan Son Nhat’s domestic traffic is split between Terminal 1 and Terminal 3. Terminal 1 has handled domestic flights since the airport opened, and the new Terminal 3 (April 2025) added capacity for 20 million passengers a year. Both are domestic terminals — check which one your ticket names.

Departure flow
- Check in and drop baggage in your terminal’s departures hall — Vietjet’s landside operation sits in Departure Hall A of Terminal 1.
- Proceed through security to the gate area; from Terminal 3, transit passengers can take the airside shuttle to Gate A2 in Terminal 1 every 20 minutes (07:00–03:00).
- The free landside shuttle runs every 15 minutes (04:30–00:30) between both terminals if you need to switch.
Domestic flights still require photo identification — carry the ID your airline accepts for boarding.
