Departures at Tan Son Nhat Airport

Domestic departures use Terminal 1 (Vietjet Air) and Terminal 3 (all other domestic carriers); international departures use Terminal 2. Plan your terminal, allow time for traffic, and note that the airport does not operate between midnight and 05:00.

Which terminal?

• Terminal 1 — domestic departures, solely Vietjet Air.
• Terminal 3 — domestic departures of Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines, VASCO, Bamboo Airways and Vietravel Airlines.
• Terminal 2 — all international departures, with 26 gates and seven lounges.

The departure flow

• 1. Check-in and baggage drop — in your terminal’s departures hall.
• 2. Security screening — then the gate area.
• 3. Boarding — 20 boarding gates at Terminal 1, 27 at Terminal 3, 26 at Terminal 2.

Good to know

• The airport cannot operate between midnight and 05:00, so late-evening and early-morning flights cluster either side of the night.
• Traffic to the airport uses Tran Son Street, Pham Van Dong Boulevard (to National Route 1) and the new Tran Quoc Hoan – Cong Hoa connector for Terminal 3 — allow extra time at peak hours.
• The free landside shuttle links all three terminals every 15 minutes if you arrive at the wrong one.

Confirm your terminal on your ticket and allow extra time for traffic — the three terminals are separate buildings linked only by shuttle.
