Tan Son Nhat Airport — International arrivals
All international flights at Tan Son Nhat are handled in Terminal 2, the international terminal that opened in December 2007 and now measures 115,834 m² with 26 boarding gates. Here is the step-by-step arrival flow and the onward options.
The arrival flow
- 1. Disembark — international flights use the jet bridges or remote stands of Terminal 2.
- 2. Passport control — immigration is processed inside Terminal 2.
- 3. Baggage reclaim — collect checked bags on the carousels in the arrivals hall.
- 4. Customs — then exit into the public arrivals area of Terminal 2.
From Terminal 2 into the city
- Public bus — the bus station in front of the terminal is served by line 109 and line 152 to the city centre and shuttle bus line 49; line 119 runs via Mien Tay Bus Station to Vung Tau and the Mekong Delta.
- Free terminal shuttle — every 15 minutes from 04:30 to 00:30 to Terminals 1 and 3 (pick-up at pillars B15–B16, Lane B).
- Taxi — the most direct option; the airport lies about 7 km northwest of District 1 and traffic can be heavy at peak times.
Have your visa or entry documents ready before landing, and keep your baggage tag until you have left the terminal.
